Route incoming email to a job
Keep useful correspondence and attachments on the work instead of in one person’s inbox.

Before you beginUse a representative record and confirm you have the permissions required for this area.
Step by step
- In Email, copy the User receiving address shown above the mailbox and forward the message to that address.
- Open the message and review its From address, subject, Spam and Virus verdicts, review reason, Fitch context note and proposed job.
- Review Attachments first. Confirm which files need review and which small signature images were ignored by the attachment rules.
- For each useful unresolved file, select the job and document category, then select File. Use Ignore only for a non-record attachment.
- For correspondence without files, select Link to job. If a match is uncertain, leave it in Needs review or use Retry Fitch; do not force a weak match.
Good practice
Do not force a weak match; the review queue is safer than filing against the wrong job.
If your workspace behaves differently, record the relevant job, client or record number and raise a support ticket so the team can investigate the exact context.
