Before you beginUse a representative record and confirm you have the permissions required for this area.

Step by step

  1. Open Settings → Production Planning and include only job statuses that represent executable or intentionally planned work.
  2. Create or review production departments, then map each reusable task to its responsible department.
  3. Confirm staff availability, working patterns and the capabilities used for assignment.
  4. Review priority rules and any output or capacity overrides with the production manager.
  5. Open the capacity view and scheduler for a representative week; compare demand, exclusions and available time.
  6. Adjust one setup rule at a time and repeat the check before relying on automated draft planning.

Good practice

An empty or overloaded scheduler is often a setup signal. Check excluded statuses, unmapped tasks and availability before manually forcing work into the week.

When you are finishedThe weekly planner includes the right open work and matches it to realistic departments and people.

Before you begin

  • Job statuses and reusable tasks are already defined.
  • Staff records and normal availability are current.

What you will see

SignBas3 staff scheduler for a synthetic sign business
Scheduler results depend on the status, task, department, availability and capability settings maintained by the business.

Screens show the synthetic BrightLine demonstration workspace. Your records, permissions and configuration will change the details you see.

If your workspace behaves differently, record the relevant job, client or record number and raise a support ticket so the team can investigate the exact context.
